lyrics
Through ignorant chaos
Cross the river ov nihil
Ages, space, all are illusory
I worship the ancient wisdom
To touch the gate ov truth
So cold the black gate is
Like cadaver ov the forgotten ancient
Surrounded by Invisible flames
Rebirth in endless misery
Shatter the flesh
Into the last spheri
Break through threefold banishments
Melt into endless light
Transcend the spirit
Into the last spheri
Break through threefold banishments
Melt into endless light
The banishments have been broken
The blood have been returned
The plot ov the earth on altar
Will be thoroughly smashed
Get rid ov flesh
Left hand path is calling the soul
Spiritual fragments unite again
Hypocritical gods are ground into dust
Shatter the flesh
Into the last spheri
Break through threefold banishments
Melt into endless light
Transcend the spirit
Into the last spheri
Break through threefold banishments
Melt into endless light

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024

Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
